Stone villa with pool, view and privacy

Nestling between vineyards and the Luberon mountains, Villa Saint-Esteve is a fully air-conditioned, charming stone farmhouse with an unobstructed view over the vines up to the Chateau d’Ansouis. It is the perfect place to return to after a day’s sightseeing of the beautiful villages, or from a morning’s shopping at the markets. This 1.3-hectare property offers peace, privacy, and the most relaxing holiday.
Comfortable interior
All the rooms downstairs rooms open onto the shady terrace, which faces south onto the pool and the view. All four bedrooms have a fabulous view. This four-bedroom house is best suited for a maximum of 8. Two bedrooms upstairs and two downstairs. The main bedroom upstairs is very spacious and has an en-suite bathroom with a bath looking out over oak trees and the Luberon beyond. The second bedroom upstairs also has an en-suite bathroom, with shower, WC and basins. There are two bedrooms downstairs: the first is spacious and has its own open-plan basins and shower and private WC. This room looks onto the terrace on the south side, and the small forest on the north side. The second downstairs bedroom is on the smallish side but with a wonderful cocooning atmosphere and opens on to the terrace. It has its own bathroom with shower and WC, which doubles as a guest loo. The bedroom layout makes it perfect for two couples each with a private wing of the house.
Indoor and outdoor relaxing
The sitting room has a wood burning stove, and low Provençal wooden beams, making it the cosiest space in winter. The kitchen has a wonderful Provencal ambience. The space has been refreshed and enlarged, and is generously equipped with a Lacanche cooking range and all the necessary appliances, including coffee makers (Nespresso, plunger and filter), wine fridge, Magimix blender, toaster and microwave oven. It is open-plan to the dining room. Meals can be served indoors in the dining room, on the terrace, or under the shade of the trees between the house and the pool. The fairy lights at night make this an especially atmospheric setting. The boule court is a wonderful setting for drinks and games, and for a meal at any time, excellent for a quiet breakfast chat under the trees. There is a Weber gas barbecue and a Weber charcoal barbecue.
Lazy, shady days
Relax on the loungers at the swimming pool and enjoy the privacy, the view, and the famous light of Provence. Sit in the shade and read a book in peace. In the evenings enjoy your aperitif on the terrace and soak up the view. The pool measures 9 x 5 metres and has a large step area that’s good for small children, although please note that the pool is not enclosed by a fence. There’s plenty of shady parking on the property, plus ample general parking space.

A perfectly equipped house, lovingly furnished, with plenty of space in and around the house. Seating for any time of day, whether sunny or shady. Fantastic view of the vineyards and the castle of Ansouis. Pretty villages all around, which – at least in September – have not yet been overrun by tourists, with markets that delight every lover of Provençal cuisine.

    2. Claude R. - Bordeaux says:

We had a very pleasant week with friends (5 adults) in this beautiful spacious house, decorated and furnished with great taste. The cool weather of early October did not allow us to enjoy the pool, whose water was cool. But we enjoyed the beautiful terrace and the beautiful garden surrounded by olive trees and a grove of trees. It enjoys a privileged view of the village of Ansouis which is emerging in the distance. The place is perfectly peaceful.

We were very well received by Christel, who takes care of the house and listened to our little problems. Caroline, the owner, had previously given us all the information and details we could wish for. She warned us in particular that the toilets had lived a little and called for an upgrade. While being quite suitable, they do indeed deserve a refresh. We do not doubt that this will be done soon.

The location of the property is excellent: nestled in the middle of fields and vineyards, but at the same time near the charming village of Cucuron as well as Ansouis and its beautiful castle. Lourmarin is a short drive away. The situation is ideal both to visit the south side of the Luberon and to push until Aix en Provence, than to go back to the north, where a string of beautiful hilltop villages, such as Lacoste, Mesnerbes, Oppède-le-vieux, and well others are available for the visit.

We will come back with pleasure.

A charming villa set within spacious grounds and well situated in easy reach of Ansouis and Cucuron. The kitchen was well equipped and there were plenty of good eating areas. We were relieved to have air conditioning in bedroom on first floor as weather was very hot. Great to be able to use bikes!
